Cohort retention

Tracking each start-period group of customers separately over time instead of blending them. A cohort view shows whether retention is improving for newer customers or whether a strong blended NRR is riding on old cohorts.

In these tools a cohort is defined by the first period a customer has ARR greater than zero. Two standard layouts: left-justified (cohorts aligned by start date, read down a column to compare cohorts at the same age) and right-justified (aligned by calendar month, which exposes a single point-in-time event hitting every cohort at once and is the better layout for forecasting).
