Pipeline coverage

The ratio of open pipeline value to the quota or target for the same period. Coverage answers one question: is there enough raw material to make the number?

Pipeline Coverage = Open Pipeline / Quota Target

Benchmark targets vary by segment: Enterprise 3-4x, Mid-Market 4-5x, SMB 5-6x. In-period coverage (deals dated inside the period) is the number that matters; total coverage flatters.
